Summer plans

Hello, today I'll talk about my plans for this summer. Really, I have no plans for this summer, at least for places to go. But I would maybe go to the beach with some friends a few days, not more than that. I also like to go a couple of days to Linares because I have family there. I would stay a couple of days with my aunt. It is a very quiet place where I can read quietly without noise. But after a while it gets a bit boring, that's why I would not be there a long time. I have no activities or groups in that i would like to join, but if I would go with friends to the movies or something. In the Normandie show good movies on Tuesdays, that would be something I'd do in the summer. Another thing I like to do is read everything I like and just what I want, take advantage of this free time to enjoy reading. If any work appears I think i can work some weeks, it would be good to have some money.
But I think the main thing that I would take advantage of the summer is not having to go to university. To sleep well, without the pressure of having to do things in a hurry to leave for university. Not having to do work that doesn't interest me, and take advantage of my time on things I really want.

About the psychology

In this blog i will try to show a view about the arisen of psychology as a discipline using the statements of Foucault about the power. I have chosen this matter because I see as fundamental the understanding of conditions of arisen of our discipline (The psychology) to be able to face the views of normalization and clasification of people.

First, Foucault doesn't understand power as something one has or not (like He Man: "I have the power"), but as something it is executed. For him, historically there are different ways to execute the power or different structures of power, on the one hand sovereignty power corresponding to monarchy and on the other, disciplinary power, which corresponds to modern state. But, is more important  understand disciplinary power, where we are right now and understand how it is related with psychology.


To explain disciplinary power, Foucault uses a panopticon analogy. Panopticon then would be a construction, a building, that allows to make visible the behaviour of all subjects from a central point of this institution, but they (the subjects) don´t know if they are observed or not,  because, in the exact middle of the prison, there is a watchtower that illuminates the cells that surround this central building. This light blind subjects, not letting them know if there is someone in the tower

For Foucault we function in a society that reproduces that function of omnivicibility and omnicontrol. In this way, the objective of disciplinary power is that each subject inside the system takes control of himself. The effect generated by this, is that there is no need for guardians in the control tower, it is enough that the tower exists to make the subjects regulate themselves.

Here we reach main point, which is that disciplinary power doesn' t need to observe what the subject thinks, only sees the behavior. An abnormal behavior means an abnormal psyche. Then, it is understood that if disciplinary power performs this operation, that psychology played and crucial role for the creation of this type of power, becasue psychology is installed with a knowledge and a group of techniques about psyche, about mind.

The enviroment

Hi, this blog is about the environment. I think people don't learn only in school about care the environment (although of course greatly influences), I think that those habits are learned at home. The family is responsible for educating people. Personally I recycle but not as much as it could be. For example, with glass bottles or aluminum cans if we do, but not beyond that, perhaps with the cardboard. I don't use bike because I don't have one :c my brother has one, but it is very small, ugly and destroyed. We have no car, so obviously i didn't use. I only use the bus and subway train to travel, Besides walking. I'm also not enrolled in any organization that cares about the environment, Sometimes I can give some money on collections that are made on the street, but no more than that. The truth I'm too lazy, and I have no interest, I prefer not to get involved in something if I'll do with no real interest. Things to do. I do not know really, maybe try harder to recycle things that I don't recycle now, or buy a bicycle. But the truth, as I live in Puente Alto, everything is a bit far for use only a bicycle. Maybe plant a tree, I dont't know. I guess the important thing is to make these small actions to protect the environment, don't throw garbage in the street, prefer public transportation or bicycle, etc. Educate others on these habits is also something I can do to help the environment.

In our city the environmental problem is very important, much remains to be done yet, but I think the most important thing needed is education. About recycling, pending issues: what to do with waste, reducing the use of cars, or share the car with other people, not use as much wood or dry wood, etc. I think many initiatives to reduce levels of air pollution still missing, and it shows in the level of pollution that is always in winter, all year actually...
